Where expertise meets kindness

The Home Vet was founded in 2025 by Anna Preece, a highly experienced vet and true animal lover. We’re an independent, community-focused veterinary service built on compassion, integrity and modern medicine – all delivered in the comfort of your own home.

Our mission is simple: to provide expert, convenient and relaxed veterinary care, tailored to each pet and family. We believe in calm, unhurried consultations, clear communication and care that always puts pets’ wellbeing first.

We’re also deeply committed to palliative and end-of-life care, ensuring dignity, peace and comfort when you need it most.

Meet Anna

(BVMS MRCVS)

Anna graduated from Glasgow University Vet School in 2005 and has since worked in both mixed and small animal practice – from Ross-on-Wye to Windsor to Australia. With two decades of experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge to every consultation, but what clients value most is her gentle bedside manner and the way she truly listens.

Anna loves building lasting relationships with pets and their families, supporting them through the joyful moments as well as the more difficult times.

At home, Anna is married with two children, a lively Labrador–cocker spaniel cross called Peggy and three cats – Rooster, Figgy and Sirius Black. Outside of work, you’ll often find her exploring the wilds of Herefordshire, planning her family’s next adventure or catching up with friends at the local pub.

Born and raised in the heart of beautiful Herefordshire, she feels privileged to still be caring for the animals and people of the community she calls home. Ali is passionate about supporting pets and their owners with kindness and compassion.

Away from the clinic, she loves exploring the countryside with her beloved dogs and spending time in the kitchen, where she can often be found baking—she loves to dream up desserts and celebration cakes to share with family and friends.

FAQ’s

  • A mobile veterinary service means we bring high-quality veterinary care directly to your home. We can examine, diagnose, treat, and even perform minor procedures in our fully equipped mobile clinic.

  • Home visits reduce stress for your pet, especially for nervous animals or those who dislike travel. It’s convenient for you, avoids busy waiting rooms, and allows us to see your pet in their familiar environment.

  • We cover Ross-on-Wye and surrounding areas within approximately a 40-minute drive. If you’re unsure whether we can visit your location, please contact us to check

  • We provide at home consultations, vaccinations, health checks, blood tests, microchipping, euthanasia, and many minor surgical and dental procedures in our mobile clinic. We also offer advice on nutrition, behaviour, and parasite prevention. More complex surgeries or cases requiring hospitalisation are referred to our trusted local partner practice.

  • Our appointment time are a rough estimate as we give each client all the time they need. We will give you a rough time of appointment the day before and message or ring you when we are on our way.

Please ensure your pet is easily accessible and has a calm, quiet space. For dogs, have them on a lead if needed; for cats, pop them into a small, enclosed room when we are on our way.
